The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall convene a workgroup of stakeholders to study the feasibility of providing Medicaid reimbursement for palliative care services for individuals with life-limiting conditions.  The workgroup shall report its recommendations to the Chairs of the House Committees on Health and Human Services and Appropriations, and the Senate Committees on Education and Health and Finance and Appropriations by November 1, 2024."



Explanation

(This amendment adds $250,000 from the general fund and $250,000 from nongeneral funds for the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) to contract with a vendor to assist in a study of the feasibility of providing Medicaid coverage of palliative care services. Language directs DMAS to convene a workgroup to study the issues and report back to legislative committees on its recommendations.)
