"WWWW. Effective July 1, 2024, the Department of Medical Assistance Services shall have the authority to increase rates for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services by ten percent and to create a billing code to enable reimbursement for the provision of care coordination as a part of behavioral health services that are classified by a Current Procedural Terminology code, including ABA services. The department shall have the authority to implement these changes prior to completion of any regulatory process undertaken in order to effect such change."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $8.6 million from the general fund and $9.7 million from nongeneral funds each year to increase Medicaid rates for ABA services by 10 percent. Language also directs the agency to create a billing code for care coordination for behavioral health services that are classified by a Current Procedural Terminology code, including ABA services.)
