"J.1. Out of this appropriation, $3,584,000 the first year and $4,534,000 the second year from the general fund is provided to implement House Bill 1089.

2. Of of this amount, $179,000 the first year is provided to support the development of the Virginia IEP and creation of high-quality professional development.

3.  Of this amount, $1,080,000 the first year and $2,209,000 the second year is provided as temporary funding to support the delivery of high-quality professional development through Virginia's training and technical assistance centers (TTACs).

4. Of this amount, $1,080,000 the first year and $1,080,000 the second year is provided to support teacher coaches through Virginia's TTACs.

5. Of this amount, $1,245,000 the first year and $1,245,000 the second year is provided to support ombudsman positions."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $3.6 million the first year and $4.5 million the second year to implement House Bill 1089, specifically provisions related to the creation and implementation of the Virginia IEP, professional development, teacher coaching and eight additional state ombudsman positions. There is companion amendment to Item 125.)
