Explanation

(This amendment reduces $50.0 million in the first year from the general fund proposed for a project to relocate tenants from the Monroe Building and demolish the building once vacated. Companion amendments (i) authorize planning for a new project to utilize property soon-to-be vacated by the Virginia Department of Transportation for use as a new state employee facility, and (ii) provide additional maintenance reserve allocations to the Department of General Services to ensure the Monroe Building remains safely occupiable until plans are finalized to relocate its existing tenants.)
