Update Assisted Living Facility Regulations for Licensed Administrators (language only)

Page 440, after line 36, insert:

"F. The Department of Social Services (DSS) shall update licensing regulations for assisted living facilities in the process of closure. Licensing regulations shall be updated to require assisted living facility administrators to notify the Auxiliary Grant (AG) program staff at the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services and the appropriate local community services board (CSB) staff prior to closure if the assisted living facility serves residents who receive AG or Discharge Assistance Planning (DAP) funding. Current licensing regulations require administrators to give at least 60 days' notice of closure, and regulations should be clarified to ensure timely notification is given to local CSB and DSS staff overseeing AG and DAP residents."


(This amendment adds language to update the Assisted Living Facility regulations for licensed administrators in the process of closing their facility in order to assist in the transition of residents to other community placements. This is a recommendation of the Joint Commission on Health Care.)
