"6. Out of this appropriation, $2,000,000 the second year from the general fund is provided to Families Forward Virginia to serve a new cohort of parents. These parents will be part of a randomized controlled trial required to establish an evidence base so CHIP can become an evidence-based service in the Home Visiting Evidence of Effectiveness (HomVEE) clearinghouse."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $2.0 million the second year from the general fund to Families Forward Virginia to serve a new cohort of parents. These parents will be part of a randomized controlled trial required to establish an evidence base so CHIP can become an evidence-based service in the Home Visiting Evidence of Effectiveness (HomVEE) clearinghouse. This is required to receive federal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting program home visiting funds. This will support the Commonwealths goals for family self-sufficiency and maternal and child health.)
