There is hereby appropriated $7,039,000 the first year for rehabilitation of historical residential buildings at Fort Monroe. The Department of General Services shall act as fiscal agent allocated to this capital project. The Fort Monroe Authority is authorized to use a portion of these proceeds to secure the services of a project manager for overseeing and coordinating the on-site efforts involving the various repairs and renovation activities. The project manager shall work in consultation and coordination with the Department of General Services as this project proceeds towards completion."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $7.0 million GF year to support rehabilitation of five historic residential buildings to preserve existing historic elements, including replacement of failing roof materials, repointing of historic masonry, replacement of deteriorated asbestos siding, installation of HVAC, and repairs to existing historic plaster walls and ceilings. The project will bring eight residential units into leasable condition to generate additional revenue.)
