"A. Out of the amounts in this item, $1,000,000 the second year from the general fund is provided as a supplemental appropriation to the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority (Virginia Space) for expenses related to the construction of a 20,000 square foot shell building at the Wallops Island Flight Facility in support of an agreement between Virginia Space and a guided missile and space vehicle parts manufacturing company.  This amount is in addition to amounts originally appropriated in Item 112.T.1 of Chapter 1 of the 2022 Acts of Assembly, Special Session I."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $1.0 million GF in FY 2024 to the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority for completion of the Melfa Hangar Project for use by Virginia Space and Wallops Island in Accomack County. Chapter I of the 2022 Special Session I originally allocated $15.0 million GF for this project in FY 2022, consistent with the terms of an agreement endorsed by the MEI Commission. This proposed funding is in addition to the dollars already allocated by the Commonwealth.)
