"II. Out of this appropriation, $2,824,031 from the general fund and $13,363,236 from nongeneral funds the second year shall be provided to contract with a vendor to provide additional eligibility redetermination capacity during the eligibility redetermination process that will occur after the federal continuous eligibility requirement expires on April 1, 2023. This funding is one-time and shall be removed from the base budget for the 2024-26 biennial budget.  This appropriation shall be unalloted on July 1, 2023.  The Department of Planning and Budget shall allot the actual cost of the contract amount after the Department of Medical Assistance Services provides appropriate documentation and the Task Force on Eligibility Redetermination has been notified of the contract award.  Any funds not needed for this purpose shall revert to the general fund at year end."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $2.8 million from the general fund and $13.4 million from nongeneral funds for additional assistance in handling the increased workload for the Medicaid eligibility determination process that will begin as the Medicaid continuous enrollment requirement ends on April 1, 2023.)
