"Out of this appropriation, $50,000 in the second year from the general fund is provided for the commission to effectuate the provisions of House Bill 1761 of the 2023 General Assembly."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $50,000 in fiscal year 2024 from the general fund to support the costs of workgroup to evaluate the competitiveness of manufacturers in energy-intensive trade-exposed industries in the Commonwealth against foreign manufacturers that are not required to meet the same federal and state standards regarding labor, energy, intellectual property, and environmental factors. This is a placeholder amendment until a final fiscal impact statement is produced.)
