Explanation

(This amendment provides $250,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2024 for DCJS to fund a public safety awareness campaign on preventing human trafficking. The awareness campaign will feature posters provided to rest areas, welcome centers and hospitals (which have also requested these materials) as well as ads to reinforce the awareness campaign theme on social media. This public safety campaign will be coordinated by the Trafficking Response Coordinator in the Department of Criminal Justice Services with support from VDOT and VDH. It will educate citizens about the problem of human trafficking and provide useful tips on what to look for as well as how to report suspected cases.)
