"Z. Out of this appropriation, $70,000,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided to establish five new crisis receiving centers and to upgrade existing crisis receiving centers."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $70.0 million the second year from the general fund to develop five new crisis receiving centers (CRC), allowing for a new CRC in each behavioral health region of the state based on the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services' definition of regions. This amendment will also allow for the expansion of three to four existing CRCs. CRCs provide short term assessments to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis and providers can then connect the patient to the most appropriate setting based on their needs after 23 hours.)
