"6. Out of this appropriation, $2.0 million from the general fund the second year shall be provided to Families Forward Virginia to expand services to a new cohort of parents as part of a randomized control trial required to demonstrate evidence of effectiveness as required to received federal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) funds."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $2 million in the second year of the biennium to Families Forward Virginia to serve a new cohort of parents. These parents will be part of a randomized controlled trial required to establish an evidence base so CHIP can become an evidence based service in the Home Visiting Evidence of Effectiveness (HomVEE) clearinghouse. This is required to receive federal MIECHV funds. This will support the Commonwealth's goals for family self-sufficiency and maternal and child health.)
