Language
Page 105, line 9, strike "$308,460,495" and insert "$308,610,495".

Pager 109, after line 14, insert:

"P. Out of this appropriation, $150,000 the second year from the general fund is provided for the department to collect demographic data related to 1) the protected characteristics covered by Virginia's Fair Housing Law and 2) neighborhood characteristics for each project funded by the Virginia Housing Trust Fund. Consistent with Virginia's Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) obligations under the federal Fair Housing Act of 1968, the department will collect and publicly report on the characteristics of residents benefiting from Virginia Housing Trust Fund projects for all projects funded the second year and thereafter. Additionally, the department will collect and publicly report on the characteristics of neighborhoods (i.e., poverty levels, census tract) in which these projects are located."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $150,000 in fiscal year 2024 and one position to increase transparency for Virginia Housing Trust Fund projects to ensure that Virginia is able to measure whether supported projects disproportionately benefit one or more groups of residents to the exclusion of other groups of residents with protected characteristics.)
