Explanation

(This amendment requests general fund and nongeneral fund authority to convert a six-acre parcel of a mostly paved, impervious surface parking lot into a community green space. Situated on the Pulse corridor and a key element of the Richmond 300 Plan, this project will transform the area in front of the Museum into a vibrant and active community resource to serve the needs of a diverse, growing citizenry. The amendment seeks an appropriation of $2,506,00 of state support. The Science Museum of Virginia also seeks authority to dedicate $5,000,000 in private funding for the remainder of the project.)
