Explanation
(This amendment redirects over $7.1 million GF per year toward other Subcommittee priorities. The funding redirection is as follows: $500,000 GF per year from the University of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University for cancer research, $3.5 million GF from the Hampton University Foundation for cancer treatment facilities and efforts at the Proton Therapy Institute, and the $2.6 million GF per year for competitive research grants. A companion amendment in the Department of Health provides $3.0 million GF in the first year toward Proton Therapy efforts for the Hampton University Foundation.)
