Explanation
(This amendment restores funding for the cost of competing adjustment for support costs for the school divisions in Planning District 8 and certain adjacent divisions as specified in the appropriation act. In the first year, full funding is provided at the current 24.61 percent support rate. In the second year, funding is based on the lower 9.83 percent adjustment for instructional positions. There is no change to the Instructional Cost of Competing Adjustment in the introduced budget or in this amendment. Related language and dollar amendments will be reflected in all applicable service areas of the Appropriation Act upon enrolling of this amendment. In addition, an amendment in Central Appropriations provides the remaining $18.5 million in the second year to fully fund this restoration contingent on the FY 2013 revenue exceeding the forecast.)
