Explanation
(This amendment provides $250,000 the second year from the general fund to Historical Museum of Western Virginia. Reinventing the Science Museum to Improve Science Literary and Promote Interest in STEM-based Careers in Western Virginia calls for the renovation of over 50,000 square feet of exhibit and program space and the creation of state-of-the-art interactive learning experiences. The reinvented Museum will focus on three primary content areas that have been determined to be of greatest interest in the community: "Healthy Bodies", "Healthy Earth", and "How It Works". The newly created space will also include a "Science Discovery Zone" for the youngest scientists and a unique hands-on, all-access "Open Lab" experience in which all visitors will have the opportunity to participate in real science experiments.)
