"Out of the amounts appropriated for this item, $500,000 the second year in special funds is provided to construct new burn buildings, repair existing burn buildings, provide grants for the purchase of fire and emergency medical services equipment, and to permit the Department of Fire Programs and State Fire Marshal's Office staff to attend training conferences and national regulatory conferences and support various organizations providing such training for fire service and emergency medical services personnel."

Explanation
(This amendment provides funding from the Fire Programs Fund to support the construction and repair of burn buildings, grants for the purchase of equipment, and to support conferences for training fire services and emergency medical services personnel and permit agency staff to attend these sessions. Although requested by the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association, the Fire Programs Fund has typically been distributed to localities.)
