"3.  Of this appropriation, $9,484,061 the first year and $12,693,228 the second year from the general fund and a like amount of federal matching Medicaid funds shall be provided to the University of Virginia Health System to increase Medicaid prospective inpatient payment rates to restore funding from the current 91 to 94 percent to this original 100 percent of the costs to care for Medicaid patients in order to meet the need for services."


Explanation
(This amendment restores funding to hospital reimbursement rates at the University of Virginia Health System that otherwise will be reduced beginning on July 1, 2011. These general fund restorations are eligible for federal Medicaid matching funds.)
