Explanation
(This amendment provides an additional $80.0 million the first year and $100.0 million the second year from the general fund to provide matching grants for the implementation of agricultural best management practices. Funds for improving water quality are matched by farmers for projects that directly reduce the introduction of nutrients and sediment to state waters. Language directs that 57% of the funds shall be used within the Chesapeake Bay watershed, 38% in the rest of the state and 5% is provided to local Soil and Water Conservation Districts to provide technical support to farmers to implement the practices.)
