Explanation
(This amendment provides funding to replace revenues estimated at $2.1 million annually from a $25 fee for child support obligees who have not received public assistance for whom the state has collected more than $500 annually in child support. Two-thirds of the revenue received from this fee are required to be sent to the federal government. The remaining one-third is used by the Department's Child Support Enforcement Division for current operations. Eliminating the fees requires additional general funds to support and maintain the agency's operations and send the federal government their share of the required fee revenue. Funding is contingent upon the passage of Senate Bill 36 that repeals the annual fee.)
