Explanation
(This amendment provides $100,000 each year from the general fund for the creation of a pharmaceutical disposal program pursuant to the enactment of House Bill 86 by the 2008 Session of the General Assembly. The bill requires the Department of State Police and Virginia Board of Pharmacy to develop a single collection location for the return of unused pharmaceuticals that would be under the control of the Department of State Police. Unused pharmaceuticals would be disposed of by the Department of State Police in a manner determined by the Board of Pharmacy in compliance with state and federal law and environmental regulations.)
