"Out of the amounts appropriated for Coastal Lands and Bottomlands Management, $150,000 the first year and $150,000 the second year from the general fund is provided to the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission for use by the Middle Peninsula Chesapeake Bay Public Access Authority established pursuant to § 15.2-6600, Code of Virginia, to increase public access to the Chesapeake Bay as recommended in the Virginia Outdoors Plan."

Explanation
(This amendment provides additional funding for use by the Middle Peninsula Planning District Commission to support the Middle Peninsula Chesapeake Bay Public Access Authority established pursuant to § 15.2-6600, Code of Virginia. The planning district commission serves as the fiscal agent for the Middle Peninsula Chesapeake Bay Public Access Authority, and the funding will be used to increase access to the Chesapeake Bay in the eight localities that are part of the authority. The Virginia Outdoors Plan has indicated the Middle Peninsula does not have sufficient access to the Chesapeake Bay for boating and other water recreation activities.)
