Explanation
(This amendment includes $5.0 million the first year from the general fund to provide funding for the rehabilitation of the Stoney Creek Reservoir Dam owned by the City of Bedford. Due to revisions to the Virginia Impounding Structure Regulations and residential development downstream from the dam, the Stoney Creek Reservoir Dam, which is the city's and much of the surrounding area's primary source of drinking water, must be upgraded. This upgrade, given the size of the City of Bedford, could have a significant impact on the rates the city charges its residential, commercial, and industrial customers.)
