Explanation
(This amendment provides $7.5 million each year from the general fund to fund ten pilot projects at community services boards to test the Sequential Intercept Model. This national model provides a continuum of diversion strategies/services at critical junctures between a consumer and law enforcement including pre-arrest, post-arrest, pre-sentencing, post-sentencing, in jail, during discharge, re-entry, and community supervision. An evaluation component is included in the funding provided.)
