"AA.  Out of this appropriation, $994,000 the first year and $994,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided for a contract with Medical Home Plus to provide psychiatric training and consultations for primary care providers on child and adolescent mental health issues in 10 pilot sites throughout the Commonwealth."

Explanation
(This amendment provides funding for the Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services to contract with Medical Home Plus to provide psychiatric training for primary care providers and consultation on care and treatment of children and adolescents with mental health needs. A recent 3-year grant funded by the federal Health Resources Service Administration (HRSA) had favorable findings from training primary care providers on childrens' mental health issues. Expansion of this pilot program has the potential to increase capacity for treating children with mental health disorders more effectively and efficiently.)
