A. Out of this appropriation, $1,500,000 the first year from the general fund is designated to support research capacity in medical modeling and simulation. The Medical School will also support this initiative with $1,200,000 from nongeneral funds. This reflects the Commonwealth's commitment to research with an emphasis on the development of self-sustaining enterprises that continue beyond the 2008-2010 biennium.
