(This amendment reduces $2.5 million the first year and $2.7 million the second year from the general fund and $835,880 the first year and $875,596 the second year from nongeneral funds for the recruitment and retention of foster parents. The introduced budget included $6.9 million from the general fund during the biennium for 15 foster family recruiters, 10 Finding Families specialists, funding for localities to support foster families, special equipment funding, and coordinators. The remaining $1.8 million from the general fund includes funding to improve the utilization of family-based foster care and lessen the reliance upon more expensive residential care.)
