"PPP.  Effective July 1, 2007, the Department of Medical Assistance Services shall adjust the placement of localities in the Medicaid Groupings of Localities to conform with the Groupings used by the Department of Social Services for the TANF program."

Explanation
(This amendment requires the Department of Medical Assistance Services to adjust their grouping of localities based on the Department of Social Services groupings which is expected to have implications for Medicaid enrollment. Currently, there are three groupings of localities in the Commonwealth, based on relative cost of living indices. Because eligibility for medically needy individuals and low-income families with children is based on these groupings, modifications to the groupings have implications for eligibility within certain jurisdictions. This change would alter Medicaid eligibility for residents of York, Poquoson, and Augusta Counties as well as the City of Staunton, based on recent changes by the Department of Social Services. Any future changes by the Department of Social Services will automatically alter the Department of Medical Assistance Services' groupings.)
