Explanation
(This amendment reduces by $1.2 million new funding proposed in the introduced budget for preschool pilot projects in FY 2008. Remaining new funding of $3.4 million would provide the state's share of the Virginia Preschool Initiative per pupil amount of $5,700 for an additional 1,000 students, plus $300,000 for start-up funding.)
