Explanation
(This amendment provides $900,000 in the second year from the general fund to establish two new regional community support centers, at Southeast Virginia Training Center and Southside Virginia Training Center. Also, funding for the three training centers that have already received funds to establish regional community support centers is increased by $100,000 each to expand services. The regional community support centers provide services to individuals with mental retardation being discharged to or residing in the community who may require specialized services that are not readily available in the community. The services offered by the centers vary based on local needs but may include dental, behavioral health, psychiatric care, program coordination, and clinic services.)
