Explanation
(This amendment reduces funding contained in the introduced budget in the second year for an expansion of the FAMIS MOMS program, which provides access to prenatal care and medical coverage to low-income pregnant women who meet the program's financial eligibility requirements. Funding remaining in this item will increase eligibility from 166 to 185 percent of the federal poverty level beginning July 1, 2007. The 2006 General Assembly increased eligibility for FAMIS MOMS from 150 to 166 percent of the federal poverty level beginning July 1, 2006.)
