Explanation
(This amendment provides additional funding to expand pilot projects to help consumers gain access to information and services that will enable them to make the appropriate long-term care service choices to meet their needs. The "No Wrong Door" study issued by the Secretary of Health and Human Resources in December 2005 in response to last year's House Joint Resolution 657, identified the need to coordinate services between the 7,000 plus public and private agencies serving Virginia's seniors. Currently, there are three pilot projects to coordinate services that are supported by seed money from the private sector, local government and a federal grant administered jointly by the Department for the Aging and SeniorNavigator. This funding would expand those projects and provide funding for software development related to this effort.)
