"2.  Out of this appropriation, $5,000,000 the first year and $5,000,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided to the Virginia Primary Care Association to develop new community health centers in medically underserved and economically disadvantaged areas of the Commonwealth, and to expand primary care services available at existing community health centers.   It is the intent of the General Assembly that the funding will be used to match funding solicited by the Virginia Primary Care Asociation from local and federal sources, and other public or private organizations.  The Virginia Primary Care Asociation shall report on the use of the funding on an annual basis to the Chairmen of the House Appropriations and Senate Finance Committees and the Joint Commission on Health Care."


Explanation
(This amendment provides an additional $5,000,000 GF each year in a matching grant to the Virginia Primary Care Association to develop new community health centers and expand services at existing centers. The introduced budget contains $433,750 GF each year to the Virginia Primary Care Association for the purchase of pharmaceuticals, pharmacy supplies and the provision of pharmacy services to low-income, uninsured adults.)
