Explanation
(This amendment provides 15 positions and $687,500 the first year and 15 additional positions and $2.7 million the second year from the general fund to the Deaprtment of Charitable Gaming for inspection and audit of small card tournaments, which typically involve various forms of poker. The funding for this initiative would be derived from the licensing fees included in House Bill 387, 2006 session of the General Assembly should it be adopted, which are currently estimated to be approximately slightly less than $1.0 million the first year and $3.7 million each year thereafter. Consequently, it is expected that an additional $250,000 the first year and $1,000,000 the second year would be deposited to the general fund if House Bill 387, 2006 session of the General Assembly were adopted and this initiative were approved for the Department of Charitable Gaming.)
