Explanation
(This amendment provides $500,000 each year from the general fund to the William King Regional Arts Center, which is located in Abingdon. The William King Regional Arts Center's Cultural Campus Expansion Project is comprised of three parts: a new museum addition lobby building; a new Artisan's Courtyard building; and improvements to the site, such as roads, parking, landscape and a widened main Street approach. The project, which will build on the Arts Center's position as a regional resource, is designed to enhance its capacity for earned income; to increase its viability as a visitor destination; and to ensure its continuance as the region's only high-security, nationally accredited art museum.)
