(This amendment provides funding to support the creation of a Governor's Commission on Sexual Violence, including staffing, travel, meeting costs, resources, and publications as needed. A 2005 study by the Virginia Department of Health (Senate Document 18) contains a number of recommendations to improve the statewide response to sexual violence, including better statewide collaboration among law enforcement and criminal justice, medical care, victim services, prevention and research.)
