"I.  Out of the amounts appropriated for Statewide Agricultural and Urban Nonpoint Source Water Quality Improvements, $100,000 the first year from the general fund is provide to study the use of ProAgri + Activator as a potential remedy to soluble phosphorus run-off from poultry waste.  This appropriation shall be transferred by the Department of Conservation and Recreation to the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences for the develop of study protocols, determination of test sites, the collection and dissemination of study results, and the development of reporting and accounting procedures for the funds provided.  The Secretaries of Natural Resources and Agriculture and Forestry shall select a lead agency and staff person to co-manage this study."


Explanation
(This amendment provides $100,000 the first year from the general fund to support a study of a commercial feed product as a potential remedy for soluble phosphorus run-off from poultry waste. This study is to be conducted by the Virginia Tech Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences and is to be co-managed by an agency and staff persons as determined by the Secretaries of Natural Resources and Agriculture and Forestry.)
