Explanation
(This amendment provides funding and one position to establish a Center of Excellence at the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute. The Center would engage in collaborative initiatives to promote the use of state-of-the-art treatment to persons with serious mental illness, including educating care providers on recovery principles and specific behavioral interventions to reduce the use of seclusion and restraints, staff training, and the use of evidence-based practices.)
