"2.  The Department shall require any clinical laboratory performing a creatinine test on a Medicaid recipient to report the glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of the patient and shall report it as a percent of kidney function remaining."

Explanation
(This amendment adds language requiring any clinical laboratory performing a creatinine test on a Medicaid recipient to report the glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of the patient. The eGFR is a calculation which measures how well a patient's kidneys are filtering wastes from the blood. Currently, physicians are required to ask for this calculation. The calculation is necessary in order to accurately classify patients into the proper disease stages of chronic kidney disease.)
