Explanation
(This amendment adds general funds and one full-time equivalent position in each year in the Department of Health to fund the costs associated with creating an Adult Fatality Review Team to review suspicious deaths of adults in order to create a body of information to help prevent future fatalities, pursuant to House Bill 969. The funding will support a full-time geriatric nurse to collect, interpret and summarize cases, which are extensive in information. The nurse would be part of the team charged with reviewing the death of any adult age 60 or older who is the subject of an adult protective services investigation or whose death was due to abuse or neglect or acts suggesting possible abuse or neglect.)
