Explanation
(This amendment restores about $1.7 million in the first year from the $4-for-Life funding that had been designated for transfer to the general fund in fiscal year 2007. By restoring the full $4-for-Life funding for emergency medical services, new statutory language passed by the 2004 General Assembly which realigned the funding formulas guiding the distribution of the $4-for-Life funding would take effect, making current language in the budget related to this distribution obsolete. Language changes contained in this amendment would modify budget language to conform it with statute. A companion amendment in Item 3-6.02 strikes language authorizing the transfer of $1.7 million in the first year from the $4-for-Life funding to the general funding for emergency medical services.)
