Page 136, after line 21, insert:
"
The Board of Education shall establish a Tuition Assistance Grant Program for Disabled Students to provide grants for students with disabilities for whom anindividualized educational program has been written in accordance with regulations of the Board of Education and who choose to attend a private school ofchoice.  Students with disabilities include those as defined by the Board of Education.  The funding for an individual disabled student's grant will be equal to the state's share of the amount that the student's public school division would have received in accordance with the appropriations act had the disabled student been in enrolled and reported in that school division's membership.  The Board of Education shall issue guidelines to administer this Grant Program and aid local school divisions and private schools in the implementation of the Tuition Assistance Grant Program".


Explanation
(This amendment provides language that establishes a Tuition Assistance Grant Program for disabled students, as defined by the State Board of Education. In addition, the grant program would provide funding to a qualified private school that the student would attend if not enrolled in a public school. The grant amount would be equal to the state's share of funding as determined by the appropriations act).
