Explanation
(This amendment provides $1.5 million the first year and $1,450,000 the second year from the general fund to be disbursed by the Department of Education to local school divisions as a state contribution to the provisions of the School Breakfast Incentive Program and healthy school breakfasts to students in elementary and secondary schools. The payments shall be based on a state contribution of $0.05 for every school breakfast served. To receive funding, each school division must provide complete documentation to the Department of Education detailing the number of breakfasts served and certifying that the breakfasts served met federal health nutrition guidelines.)
