"B.  Out of the amounts appropriated for Legislative Research and Analysis, $10,000 each year from the general fund is provided to support the operations of the Commission on Immigration, pursuant to House Bill 186, 2006 Session of the General Assembly.  This operating support shall be used to provide for the expenses incurred by the members of the commission and may be used for such other services as the committee deems necessary to accomplish the purposes for which it is created."


Explanation
(This amendment provides $10,000 each year from the general fund to support the operations of a proposed Commission on Immigration. The commission would be responsible for analyzing the current impact of immigration on the Commonwealth and for distributing reports and recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly as needed to address issues caused by immigration. Pursuant to the legislation, the commission will expire at the end of fiscal year 2008.)
