"B.1. Included in this appropriation is $350,000 the first year and $350,000 the second year from the general fund to enable the department to implement a pilot reintegration program.    Detention facilities may participate in this program based on negotiated agreements with the department that establish per diem rates, as well as classifications of wards that may be included.  The department shall separately provide for treatment and other support services for such wards in their communities.
2. The Secretary of Public Safety, in conjunction with the Director of the Department of Juvenile Justice, shall provide a status report on the implementation and operation of the reintegration pilot program administered by the department.  The report shall address:  (1) the facilities participating in the program, (2) the services provided to participants, and (3) factors affecting utilization or expansion of the program.  In addition, such report shall include an evaluation plan for determining the efficacy of the pilot program. This report shall be provided to the Governor and the Chairmen of the House Appropriations and Senate Finance Committees no later than December 1, 2006."


Explanation
(This amendment provides an additional $100,000 in the first and second years from the general fund for the reintegration program that will be administered by the Department of Juvenile Justice. Combined with the $250,000 each year from the general fund recommended in the introduced budget, total funding provided for the reintegration pilot program is $350,000 the first and second year.)
