Explanation
(This amendment eliminates the general fund support included in the introduced budget for additional oversight of landfills and enhanced solid waste management. During the 2004 Session of the General Assembly, the Department of Environmental Quality sought additional fees for solid waste and water permits, which were approved. The total revenue generated by these permit fees' approval was expected to be about $5.0 million for both fiscal year 2007 and 2008 and, of that sum, about $1.4 million each year was to have been generated for the operation of the Commonwealth's solid waste programs.)
