Explanation
(This amendment adds funding to increase operating support for the Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation and the new facility for sexually violent predators (SVPs) which will be built in Nottoway County. A portion of the funds will be used to double capacity at the current facility in Dinwiddie County, if needed, until the new SVP facility is completed and begins operations on October 1, 2007. No operational savings are assumed by the closure of the Dinwiddie facility as it appears that, based on the new commitment projections, these beds will continue to be needed. Operational support is provided for the new facility in the second year totaling $8,845,031 from the general fund.)
