Explanation
(This amendment provides $450,000 from the general fund in additional funding to the Pharmacy Connect Program in Southwest Virginia, bringing total funding for the program to $814,809 in the second year. The added funding will allow for more staff at community access points to provide additional medically indigent citizens to receive needed medication assistance. To date, the Pharmacy Connect Program has leveraged state funding to bring in over $40 million in free medications to uninsured and underinsured adults in Southwest Virginia.)
